Insulated Architectural Concrete Wall

Taracon precast s insulated precast concrete wall panels are wall panels designed with two layers of concrete that are separated by a layer of insulation.

As with architectural panels insulated sandwich wall panels can be strictly architectural strictly structural or a combination. Because of the wall panel s three layered structure it is sometimes referred to as a sandwich wall panel. The difference between a standard wall panel and insulated wall panel is that the latter is cast with rigid insulation between two layers or wythes of concrete. Precast wall systems can be used with both steel and cast in place structural systems.

High concrete group s wall systems consist of a variety of insulated and non insulated panels column covers mullions infill and recladding panels. Examples include insulation placed in concrete masonry cores and continuous insulation in a masonry cavity wall note that an insulated masonry cavity wall can also be considered as exterior insulation if the thermal mass effect of the veneer is disregarded. Each concrete layer also known as a wythe can vary in thickness and can be connected with one of many different types of systems. This allows the structural performance to be based on the full thickness of the panel.

Insulation is full width and height. Integral insulation refers to insulation placed between two layers of thermal mass.

The insulation thickness can vary to create the desired thermal insulating property r value for the wall. Composite panels connect the two wythes of concrete without penetrating the insulation with a conductive material.
